Animation project
I started working on this animation project a while ago, and it's still not even close to being finished.
The obvious subject of the animation is the little girl. This was an initial sketch. A little dark haired girl, wearing a red dress, with balloons/bubbles floating around her. The plan is to make her wander around a world, her own made up world.
I planned to make the world fit her emotions. When she's sad, she finds herself in a gloomy atmosphere. A happy feeling would fill the air with light.
The materials I used to make these are watercolors and colored pens. I splattered the paper with colors before actually drawing on them, in order to make the bubbles.
The basic idea is to come up with more emotions and to find fitting atmospheres. Then, I have to connect them in a way that gives it a story, a meaning. I could just leave it as a walk-through her emotions.
I have enough time to think about that, the main problem is the technique. Watercolors look great, and they are very helpful with expressing emotions.
The only problem here is that this technique takes a lot of time and it needs a lot of frames. I tried a doing a short version of it in just a pencil. It went faster but for a 3-4 seconds animation, I had to make more than 30 frames.
So, in order for me to actually finish this animation project, all I really need is time and nerves, and a large supply of paper. Also, a good camera would help.
I plan on finishing this project, ideally this year, but I don't think I will have the time to work on it, at least until this summer. So I'll put it on hold for now, while still thinking of to make it better.
